Personally to me, transgender means journeying towards ones selves authenticity of being who they truly are, whether it be medical or not.

I'm rather confident that transgender is an umbrella term that includes every person who isn't cisgender, meaning every person whose gender identity doesn't (always) perfectly match their s.a.b. *.

*: sex at birth.
